• First an apology , my spoken German isnt suitable for a family forum and my written German is non existent, so its English im afraid to say!

Whilst i have a Mondeo myself, a good friend has a Galaxy (very similar). He wants to add BLIS, and the articles and wiki are excellent for mondeo, there are of course differences to the Galaxy!

So, can i ask - which brackets and rear bumper harness would be needed for a 2012 Galaxy? We have worked out the other parts from the wiki (yes its that good!)

Changed the title of the thread from “Blind Spot rstro fit” to “Blind Spot retro fit”.
  • Definitely another harness because of other wire lengths.
May you send me the VIN of the Galaxy as conversation?
Besides the planned BLIS, what else is existing? PDC and TPMS or only PDC?

  • Thank you

    the VIN is WF0HXXWPBHDA03694

Its PDC only . We have most of the parts (mirror glass, modules, radars) just missing the radar brackets, the bumper harness and the cable ends for the mirror glass (where it plugs into the door). the Delphi 13580019. Cannot find them anywhere.

  • Are you sure it's a Galaxy?
As far as I know the Galaxy from plant Genk have VINs like: WF0MXXGBWMxxxxxxx
    S-Max like: WF0SXXGBWSxxxxxxx
With the VIN I find this: Focus C-Max, not Galaxy

  • Thank you but some of that list have differences to the Galaxy; it is a brilliant resource !

  • Yes, but per principle it's the same. Maybe some mechanic parts (radar bracket) could be different.

  • Not 100% guarantee, but I think the right harness is: 1800953, selected on variant page with "BLIS", where only "BLIS" harnesses are shown (different to Mondeo overview)

No idea what is "14B121A" and "14B121B", but it has nothing to do with the radar module "14C689": It's mentioned full dress up RSO.
Is this the light around the tailgate?

As concerns bracket, I found none.
In the meanwhile i think this is already integrated in the bracket for the left and right bumber outside:

  • Thank you!

If the wiki is updated? The correct part number for the harness for a Galaxy Facelift is

    AG9T-15k868-SDC

That is the rear harness WITH PDC , WITH BLIS and LESS TPM

oh and as above, teh radars bolt straight to the bracket! Total legends all!

  • So finis no. "1800953" was OK and is "AG9T-15k868-SDC"?
And my bracket assumption was not so bad?
    Do you have a picture?
    And: Does it work?

  • So my apologies for the late reply;

    the answer is `sort of`

The cable comes in 2 parts - 1800953 is less TPM but with BLIS

AG9T-15k868-SDG (Not SDC, read it hastily with a dirty label!) , However it isnt complete and and has a plug for the Wire Assembly:

170700 and 1707003 (LH fitting without and with TPM)

1707004 and 1707006 (RH fitting without and with TPM).

I was lucky to find the cables , so my BLIS is now installed and working as intended

  • OK, now I know what the small cables / looms 14B121A are for:

  • all wired in, switched on. Thought was ok till a dtc check today and

    B1B70:87-6C

    LIN bus circuit both side,

  • Coud you paste the whole text please? B1B70 (not known to me, but from https://mk4-wiki.denkdose.de/artikel/dtc/dtc_codes_b it is related to LIN BUS #2) seem to be in the range of the climate control (starting with B1B71..), not blindspot. Also, BLIS does not use LIN, it uses an own CAN (3RD_CAN).

:87 means "Missing message", so it can't communicate with it.

-6C is status, don't know what it means.

  • PDM (and DDM) DTC B1B70:87-6C

    Code: B1B70 - LIN Bus Circuit #2

    Additional Fault Symptom (:87)

    -Missing Message

    Status (-6C)

    - DTC Maturing - Intermittent at time of request

-Malfunction Indictor Lamp is Off for this DTC

    - Test not complete

  • Ok, strange that it is in PDM/DDM. But if, it is the connection to the rear door modules, everything else is CAN. So i doubt that it has to do with your BLIS, and BLIS should work fine.

  • Found the problem - its 2 part ! The door modules were not the `correct` ones - now changed for parts ending `VC` and `SC`. Still didnt work. However in forscan, `Blind Spot Mirrors` has 4 options. Thinking to what you said about canbus, i changed the mirrors from ` with blindspot` to `with blindspot with radar CAN_LED` . So with correct door modules and proper setting, i now have the orange dot on the mirror when testing :D

  • Interesting. ElmConfig does not have this special CAN setting. Did not know that it exists. Can you send a screenshot?
