One last thing to retro fit - Lane Depart (spurhalteassistent)

  • So im at the last retro fit - Lane Depart!

Steering Wheel (with vibration motors) and matching Clock Spring with stalk all fitted,

Camera aquired along with correct wiring.

Wiring spliced into loom under glove box.

All enabled in Forscan , but , i can turn it on but it goes straight off again with this error.

    Help?

  • It must be calibrated first.

  • And: Even if the system works properly, the yellow symbol appears also, when it's turned off. I assume that the target is to it make visible, that it's not activated. When you activate and there's no other failure, the symbol disappears.

  • Time to `bite the bullet` as the saying goes and put a windscreen on my credit card then (along with adas calibration)

  • Oh, you haven't considered bying a windscreen with the approriate cutouts for the cam? That could get expensive... in Germany we have insurance against stone chips, that helps. (ups, did i say that? ;)

  • BUT, im getting errors:

and it doesnt have a camera module anyway for rear camera? Not sure whats going wrong - 1 error it for rain sensor as well

  • Found the problem!

In FORScan, there is another option

Driver Impairment Monitor - WITH Driver Impairment Monitor.

Now it works as it should

  • Could you give some hints for the wiring?

  • Happily. I found a roof loom on ebay which i could use for my needs but ofc standard wiring will do.

From the camera connector 3 wires ; Can-High (white blue), Can-Low (white) and GND (black white) run along the roof, down the piler to the connection next to the BCM

That grey connector is also for my keyless start - the 3 wires need to be spliced into those as they use the same pins/colour wires

No the wiring isnt finished, that was to test the system works! So white/Black goes to white black , white blue to white blue etc etc

The final wire is the violet colour - they can be spliced into the mirror power.

The last part is the rain sensor - its a round type vs the square type. The connector is different (its smaller) so will need to be changed to the smaller one to fit.

then enable Lane Keeping + Driver Assist + Auto Main Beam in Forscan (or your software)
