Anyone know anything about Motral lately?

You would first have to examine the graphics stored in the IPC to see whether there would even be an icon for such a display.
I imagine it would be a message, like the low washer fluid level warning message, rather than an icon in IPC. And it is way above my knowledge how that message is constructed and sent/displayed.
Regardless, it doesn't look like it is possible. Sorry to get hopes up.

Ah. I stand corrected. It was a long time ago

I never got as far as putting a wire in there and trying.
But thinking back to my Mondeo MK2 days, and before to Granada and Sierra... The Granada and Sierra had a more complex system. 2 resistors in the level plugs, coolant and washer fluid. The module could read 4 states. Open circuit (broken wire) and short circuit (grounded on metal somewhere). Either of these state registered as a fault and would flash the relevant warning light. The other 2 were (through the resistors) normal level, no light on and low level, light on.
There were a lot of problems with this system I think. Mainly to do with false warnings as the coolant got hot and cooled down, expanded and contracted.
by the time the 1st Mondeo came along, it was a simplified system. I seem to remember that they also changed the logic to help with false warnings. I think it only put the warning light on, if the level was low on start-up, and not if the level dropped while the engine was running. And of course there is the delay for sloshing, same as washer fluid. It used to be about 6 seconds, but Focus for instance is about 12-13 seconds. Even then, I think there were false warnings. Probably why they don't fit them any more
So, I'm saying it might be worth trying a few different scenarios, and maybe don't expect it to come on straight away

Diagram is pre-facelift, I think
I think I remember why I lost interest.
I found similar on ebay, tank listed for a Ford, but was actually from a Volvo. Even though it had Ford markings.
Even though it would fit and locating points were in the same place, the large hose fitting pointed in the wrong direction and it wouldn't fit. I searched lots of other Volvos, but never found one with the outlet in the right position.
Maybe you will have better luck.
As you said, it is strange that the moulding is present on the Mondeo tank. I did consider cutting it open and dropping the magnet in, then somehow welding it back together. There's a lot of heat and a lot of pressure though

MK4 Mondeo wiring diagrams from ETIS.
I wouldn't have posted if it was another vehicle. I am sure there isn't a wire in that position though. Washer fluid and brake fluid low level are very near to it.
-
I was very interested in doing this a few years ago. Lost interest now, so didn't pursue it, but, you say there is no wiring? Well, have a look at this.
Central junction box (not sure why it says engine compartment) highlighted in red. There is also listed, low brake pad input

Nothing worked at all, completely dead.
It was a long time ago, so I can't remember exactly what I did, I'm sorry. I used an old central locking module that would be used with an aftermarket alarm (that didn't have central locking control built in). I had to go inside the door module and solder 2 wires on the relayIt works absolutely fine. But the car doesn't "know" if the lock is on or if it's failed. I will have a look and see if I can find any notes or diagrams I made
On FL, when the child lock motor moves into the lock position, it hits a limit switch that grounds/earths the feed back wire going to the module. If the module doesn't "see" this ground a couple of seconds after pressing the child lock switch, it assumes the child lock hasn't activated and puts up the malfunction message.
-
I have fitted power child locks in my vFL. I have FL front and rear door modules, so assumed it would work. There are 2 wires to add from lock to rear module. The child lock motor feed and the feedback wire. So it knows if it hasn't worked, and puts a message in convers display to say "child lock malfunction". Unfortunately it didn't work.
I made up my own circuit and soldered wires into the relay circuit in the door module. It wasn't easy, but it works. Not that I've ever used it. No messages in cluster though. I guess the early CAN just does not recognize it.
I see you are also looking to fit keyless entry. I have done this, so I can answer some questions for you
Mondeo, S max or Galaxy handles are all the same, no others though.
Not worth replacing the whole tailgate harness for the lock switch, just add 1 wire

I fluctuate between enthusiasm and confusion. That means that everything is prepared for PS at least up to the door. But where do these lines end?
Then I dismantled a few panels, but I couldn't find a possibly wrapped connector for an output stage ... and it should be somewhere in the area of the steering column.
Could it be this plug. I have wondered what it was for years. Near my brake pedal (Right hand drive)
-
Definitely worth it, for me. A lot of work, but I love it. And prefer my new centre console
-
If its any help, you can break off the welds that hold the upper (facelift) panel and fit it to the pre facelift. You can re-melt the fixings and even use screws behind the "spear" to hold it together. Means you don't need to fit pre face handles, which are not very nice. I did this when I upgraded my interior
-
Yes, it was me.
It was quite a job.
Easy part was fitting the calipers and wiring. Difficult job was centre console. I bought LHD and RHD consoles, cut them both in half and made a new one. Painted in correct colour. If you look very closely you can see the join, but it's pretty good. Then made the handbrake surround and moved heated seat switch over. Finally got all trim pieces hydro dipped.
Very pleased with the whole job. I don't know why EPB was never offered on MK4 Mondeo. It is a fantastic addition, and despite what may people say, very easy to put into maintenance mode for changing pads. Everything works as it should... drive away release, which only works if drivers door is closed and drivers seat belt is fitted, and it won't engage if more than 10 kph
If I look with Forscan I have 1 DTC "module configuration not complete" but this causes no issues at all, and no warning messages.
The calipers are not the old, Focus type calipers with a motor and cable. They are just calipers with the motors built into them, like the newest designs
Thanks for looking

Maybe not even for a Ford. This is for Jaguar XF and has only Ford markings, no mention of Jaguar.

Ah, that does make sense. I googled evosonic, and it is a German radio station. So if none of you guys have seen it, then I guess it is not available. Interesting looking at the MCA, with the "off" button, where it should be a cover plate with only the removal slot behind. Plus the other different labelled buttons. It also has 3rd row air con activated, waste of time on a Mondeo. Doesn't do anything. And AQS enabled with auto recirc. I have this fitted, never an option in UK
Thanks for your help.
Gary
Never sure whether to post in English, or German, using useless translator. Typical Brit, expects the rest of the world to speak English: Doublethumbsup:

Hello. Has anyone seen this switch? It has a tailgate release. I'm trying to find a part number for it. It was obviously never available in the UK and I can not find any information.<img src = "https://mk4-forum.denkdose.de/attachment/28681-fordmondeo2011-jpg/" class = "woltlabAttachment" data-attachment-id = "28681" id = "wcfImgAttachment0"> Many Thanks

I have MCA2, and have fitted the centre speaker. It works fine and does not need an amplifier. Straight on to pins 1 and 7
